Ray Shoemaker’s first exposure to healthcare was when he was hired by a local Mississippi healthcare center to be director of their Behavioral Health Perspectives. His successful stint at this local center led to his being hired to do the same thing, start a behavior health program, at the Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, Mississippi. This experiment grew from an idea to 22 beds very quickly. He eventually rose to the position of CEO of the Tri-Lakes Medical Center. Ray Shoemaker has, since then, founded Rural Healthcare Developers, which he hopes will help to modernize rural healthcare providers.
